Novint Technologies Announces Initial Public Offering
June 08, 2006

Company's Low-Cost Technology Adds Realistic Sense of Touch to Computing

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., June 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Novint Technologies, Inc. announced trading of their shares on the OTC Bulletin Board today under the symbol NVNT.
Novint is the pioneer of 3D touch for consumer computing and is introducing a new category of products that lets users experience realistic interactive touch on a PC. The technology, which the company first plans to debut for PC gaming, is also compatible with console game systems and has a wide variety of potential applications in many markets.

Novint is uniquely qualified to bring this technology to the market. Novint has an unprecedented exclusive license to over five years of groundbreaking research from Sandia National Laboratories, which developed some of the first 3D touch software in the world. The company is a leading developer of commercial touch applications and has worked with clients including Lockheed Martin, Chrysler, Chevron, Mobil, Aramco, and Harvard University, creating custom software solutions for the medical, scientific, petroleum, automotive, and design industries. Novint's team has over 30 years of combined experience in the field of haptics (the science of applying touch to human computer interfaces).

In the past, the expense of 3D touch (haptic) hardware made the technology cost-prohibitive. In 2007, Novint plans to introduce a controller that makes high-fidelity interactive 3D touch possible and practical for consumer applications for the first time. The Novint Falcon will initially retail for approximately $150, and is designed to retail for under $100 in mass market quantities. The Falcon performs comparably to commercial devices that cost thousands of dollars, and, like all true 3D touch controllers is, in essence, a robot. Using the Novint Falcon, users feel weight, shape, texture, dimension, 3D motion, and force effects when interacting with touch-enabled environments, objects, and data.

The Novint Falcon is the first game controller that lets players feel a character's actions instead of controlling a game through mouse clicks or meters. Players feel the weight of a basketball as they shoot it towards a hoop -- the momentum and impact as they swing a golf club and strike a ball -- the recoil of a weapon -- or the characteristics of virtual objects and environments. Video games have utilized increasingly sophisticated graphics and sound, but none have incorporated 3D touch.

In May at E3, the world's largest video game industry expo, Novint was a standout, winning the IGN Best of E3: Gear award, besting the Nintendo Wii- mote, the Sony PlayStation 2 controller, and the Sony PlayStation 3 controller. Novint was also one of only three nominees in the Best of E3: Hardware/Peripheral category which included Nintendo Wii and the Sony PlayStation 3. IGN wrote: "The Nintendo Wii made a big splash at E3 this year, and its motion-tracking controller has suddenly pushed innovative control mechanics into the forefront of what's hot in gaming. While we were fans of going through physical motions to play games with the Wii, Novint Technologies opened our eyes to what it's like to actually feel a game. The Falcon is a first-of-its-kind PC peripheral that makes use of force feedback to allow users to experience artificial 3D-touch "Haptic" sensitivity of virtual objects."

UPI recently wrote that "The Novint Falcon 3D controller from Novint Technologies is a bold and unique new controller that will give gamers the ability to feel and play games in a fully realized 3D space ... Nintendo made huge waves with their new Revolution controller, but that controller pales in comparison to Novint..." Novint was also named to UPI's Top 12 List at the Game Developer's Conference, a list which included Sony, Nintendo, Nokia, and Microsoft.

CEO Tom Anderson said: "Our sense of touch connects us to the world around us, both physically and emotionally, yet it is absent from almost every computer-mediated experience. The concept of true interactive touch is generally unfamiliar to the public, in the same way the idea of television was unimaginable to people in the age of radio. But, like TV, which brought moving pictures to the living rooms of the masses, we envision a not too distant future when our touch technology could replace the computer mouse, becoming as commonplace and ubiquitous as the television."

Todd M. Ficeto of Hunter World Markets, Inc. Novint's investment banking firm, said: "Novint's new patented technology and low-cost hardware solution removes the barrier to entry for 3D touch applications in major consumer and commercial markets. Like other seminal technologies before it, this is the kind of innovation that has the potential to change the future of computing."
